Why we travel?
Outline
Your travels
I was traveled Hong Kong and
Los Angeles because I want to touch another culture. (I’m Japanese)
While she was in India, she
knows how to through trash. Indian through trash on the ground. In addition,
while she was in India, she was molested and she know how differently they
handled criminals. Those two events are very different from American culture.
She realized that what I treasured most about travel was not that it gave me a
chance to see novel things. Travel gave me a chance to look with new eyes on
familiar things. She said that I was returning home a different person—not Indian or
Chinese, but a wiser and changed American because of them.
Huberman tells her friends in
Maine that by travelling "[She'll] be exposed to new ways of doing and
seeing things". First, she talk about experience
in India.
I think 1) Benefits of travelling – It
teaches you about the world, 2) Benefits of travelling – It teaches you about your homeland and 5) Benefits of travelling – It provides you with unforgettable moments and experiences are
important to me.
First, the reason why I
choose number 1 is because I strongly agree that. As Huberman said if I travel
another country, I learn about the culture of the country you visit. When I
came here from Japan, I learned American culture. American culture is very
different from Japanese culture. Learning another culture is very interesting
for me, so I pick number 1.
Second, the reason why I
choose number 2 is because as I said I like learning another culture. When I
find different point from Japanese culture, I have a question that why Japanese
people think that. I have many experiences that before I came here, I think
that the thing is very normal thing, but after I came here, I learn the thing
is not normal thing.
Finally, the reason why I
choose number 5 is because when I travel overseas, I feel this place looks like
another world, so the experiences in overseas became unforgettable memory. I
think another country’s many aspects is deferent from my home country, so traveling is
very fun for me.
Why should young people travel?
Peterson claim the reason why
young people should travel is 1. You’ll Get Out of Your Comfort Zone, 2. Traveling Builds Confidence, 3.
You Will Develop Cultural Sensitivity, 4. You Can Adapt to Globalization, 5. Be
Immersed in a Second (or Third) Language, and 6. Infinite Opportunities to
Network. I agree that opinion and I think first one is most important because
if you will get out of your comfort zone, you may greatly grow up.
The first reason is that
geographic size of the United States, and the fact that many don't people don't
feel the need to travel abroad in order to see and experience different things
(such as mountains or an ocean). United States is very big and has a lot of
tourist destination. The second reason is skepticism of other countries and
cultures. I agree that before I came here from Japan, I also have that because
I know the crime rate is higher than Japan and some internet media said
traveling to United State is very dangerous. The third reason is simply
American work culture.
Self-imposed Isolation?
I don’ know about
American, so I will talk about Japanese. The biggest reason why many people don’t travel overseas is language problem. Japanese is unique language
and Japanese is only spoken in Japan, so when Japanese travel overseas, they
cannot communicate another people. I think that situation is very scary, so
many Japanese don’t travel overseas.
